The Summer Series have recently launched 2 x 10km chip timed races in 2 of the country’s most beautiful parks.
On the 24th May 2015 runners will be weaving in and around the follies of St Anne’s Park, Raheny, Dublin 5. The 10km route will be entirely on the paths throughout the 250 acre park. Participants can expect long flat straights, a few quick up and downs and some terrific scenery as they pass by the coast on one side and the pond on the other.
The second event will be held on 12 July 2015 in the historical grounds of Malahide Castle, Malahide, Co Dublin. The 10km route will consist of path, trail and grass. This will be the 3rd year of the 10km run in the Castle demesne which has proved hugely popular in previous years.
The events are well organised where reviews and feedback have been largely positive over the years. The event has developed from the Malahide Castle Race Series in 2013, to the Summer Series in 2014. The organisers aim to bring a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to each event while laying out fun and competitive routes.
Each participant will receive a funky technical tee-shirt regardless of what event they enter. There is a discounted rate for entering both events and participants receive 1 tee-shirt for this package. There will be aid stations at the 5km mark along with refreshments and treats at the finish line.
So bring the family for support and after the race take full advantage of the parks, go for a picnic, grab a coffee or take a stroll around these wonderfully maintained amenities.
